Dick has announced funding of €35,000 towards the fit out costs of the Arklow Youth Centre, just off the Main Street in the town.
Today’s allocation is in addition to the €270,000 provided last year that purchased the much needed facility in Arklow. The €35,000 will allow for works to be carried out in the Centre including the fit-out of the kitchen, the installation of a gas heating system and the installation of a lift to make all parts of the building accessible.

"With this new funding the Centre in Arklow will be able to continue to make improvements. This will allow the youth project provide additional activities, involve a greater number of young people from the town in their programmes and make greater use of their new building.
The provision of youth centres and projects for young people is an important piece of infrastructure in every town; just as much as any of the other services that contribute to a vibrant community.
Today’s funding for Arklow will add to the range of services and activities for young people in the town” said Minister Roche.
